Mad River City to play rock Wed., Sept. 23, at 8 PM

Mad_River_City_WebMad River City, from Waterbury, play their first Best Video Performance Space show on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The music starts at 8 PM and the cover is $5.

Cody Place and Hilton Jones both played solo acoustic shows, monthly at a particular bar for about a year. The two developed a bit of an alliance and eventually decided to join forces and play out locally as a Half Acoustic/Half Electric Duo (Rogues’s Gallery) playing covers and did so for about another year or so playing all manners of bars, benefits, and parties.

Eventually they started writing a raft of original songs and filled out their sound with the addition of drummer Jason Bufalini. After a few years of a seeming revolving door of drummers Mad River City was finally formed, named after the waterway that runs through the city of Waterbury. The group is still in the process of writing and recording in Shelton with Long Hill Recording.
