GoBruCcio with Dan O’Brien play improvised music Thurs., June 23

The free improvisation trio GoBruCcio presents multi-reed player extraordinaire Dan O’Brien in a show at Best Video Film & Cultural Center Thurs., June 23. The show starts at 7 PM and the cover is $10.

GoBruCcio will do an opening set followed by an extended quartet performance. Dan’s tone, ideas and facility on a wide variety of instruments will take the trio to new places.

The trio of guitarist Bob Gorry, bassist Pete Brunelli, and drummer Peter Riccio create dynamic and consistently intriguing free improvisations as GoBruCcio. The three long-time musical friends perform spontaneous interplay that takes the music in unexpected directions while offering listeners plenty of variety and surprises. Their debut album, GoBruCcio, was released to positive reviews in the worldwide music press.

Dan O-Brien is Connecticut-based improviser, composer, saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist, and teacher whose current work revolves around the dynamic practice of free music. He has been playing around the Northeast from New York to Boston for the last decade after music studies at Western CT University, University of North Texas, and the New England Conservatory. He runs Phonoemulsion Records documenting his work with like-minded creative musical personalities in and around Connecticut.
