The tagline for “The Landlord” is, “Touched by the paranormal, a mysterious tenant wreaks havoc with his landlord in this psychedelic absurdist-comedy.”

This absurdist comedy takes place in a small suburban town in Connecticut. Colin Brook, a jerk in need of money, rents his spare room to a mysterious stranger, Edwin. Edwin is a strange man with a paranormal aura surrounding him. Despite Edwin’s unsettling appearance and demeanor, Colin allows his greed to get the better of him and rents the room to him. Colin is increasingly baffled by Edwin’s inexplicable hijinx. And being bound by an iron clad contract, Colin has no escape from Edwin’s oppressive presence and his group of bizarre guests.

“The Landlord” stars David Brook as Colin Brook and Robert Proverb as Edwin Drood. The entire series of five 10-minute episodes will be shown on Best Video Performance Space’s large projection screen.

Originally a three-piece garage band with dreamy drifts, Spectral Fangs expanded in November 2012 to fit waves of reverb and power pop sensibilities. Now the band floats tight melodies high above a coalescence of ’60s soul, ’70s punk, irreverent ’90s rock and indie pop.

Spectral Fangs at Best Video Performance Space July, 2016.

Spectral Fangs’ influences range from T.Rex and Belle and Sebastian to The Soft Boys, Dinosaur Jr., The dBs and The Left Banke. This reflects only a sliver of the vast music catalogue galvanizing the band—and the many projects that each Fang has embarked upon since they were teenagers growing up in the Tri-State Area.
