Attic Souls, A Pallet for the Shoal

Tickets

Attic Souls and A Pallet For the Shoal share the bill at Best Video Film & Cultural Center on Sat., Feb. 21. The show starts at 7 PM and the cover is $10.

Attic Souls was formed in 2025 by four friends: Rich Allard (guitar), Paul Nofsinger (vocals), Brian Stiltner (bass), and Mike Thornberg (drums). They play original songs, which show the influences of post-grunge, pop-punk, and classic rock, as well as flavorings of jazz and jam band. Much of the Souls’ songwriting and practicing is done in a third-floor attic, inspiring both the band’s name and their song “Up on the Third Floor.” The band’s sets are interspersed with deep-cut covers from some of their favorite alternative bands of the 90s, such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, and Cracker.

A Pallet for the Shoal has been making original music for seven years, playing festivals and venues all over Connecticut, including at Best Video last May. They are Clay Eles (vocals and guitar), Christopher Graves (bass), and Chris Maiorano (drums). Nostalgic hooks mingle with lacerating guitar and sweet, piping harmonica, anchored by a solid, thumping, fortification of bass and drums. Check out their debut album, "The Trembling Ground," on all streaming services.
